On this day in 2017, I shared with you a rather lovely stroll in Birmingham. At the time I was recovering from my very first squares, I never envisaged I’d still be squaring four years later. You can enjoy the full walk here.

In case you hadn’t guessed October is Past Squares. A month to share memories, personal favourites, leftover squares and also have fun with themes you have always wanted to try.

      1. I’ve never been on a canal boat in England, but I have done a bit in France and that’s exactly what I liked about it. The speed limit was 5 mph so I had to slow down and relax into the leisurely progress.

  1. Thanks for the indirect shout up, Becky! That was a lovely walk. Brum is a bit special for me because I met lovely Gilly there- she traveled from Exeter and me from the north east. I must give her a nudge because she’s stopped posting again.

  2. Brum has 35 miles of canals apparently. I must confess I have never been to look at them. I once got offered a job in Bourneville but had to turn it down because of the horrendous commute.
Sticking with old topics but with a new photo today:

      1. No. It was when I was living in Shrewsbury and jobless. The commute either by train or car was about 1 hour 30 minutes without delays! It would have been a good job for me though.
