Ancona

I came across this photograph last week when I was beginning my preparations for April Squares, and it evoked a whole host of memories. The main one being what my thoughts were I first observed this Ancona in a country garden in Somerset. I can still recall how I smiled and immediately thought of the childhood game and nursery rhyme. Although now on reflection I realise she was probably saying she was the Queen of the Castle before she dismissed us, the dirty rascals!

    1. I remember a couple of decades ago a bird photography forum having a bottom theme for a while. It allowed me to showcase my collection of birds having a poop.

      1. My favourite, which I seem to have misplaced, was a Turkey Vulture flying over a car park at a well-known bird photography location during spring migration. It was carpet bombing the birders and their vehicles.
