Like many other participants in this week’s photo challenge roads were the first things I thought of when I saw Ben’s post yesterday. He’s spot on with how the narrowness keeps us in suspense as we ponder what is around the next corner, what is over the hedge and on how on earth we are going to get through that gap. Narrow roads can be magical, especially when the skies are blue and you are in Portugal.
What Ben didn’t mention though is the other magic of narrowness. You know when you breathe in to make yourself smaller! How many times have I done that as I have squeezed the car down a narrow road – as if somehow how breathing in will make the passage easier. Yet it does!
I’ve realised since I got back that I have got out of the habit of posting here. We’ve been busy but not that busy! Anyhow I thought I’d catch up today with another weekly small pleasures. I forgot though to take any photographs so before I share some of my smiles from this week, here’s a photo of me and my mum from the week before. We were both feeling happy after putting together her new garden table and had to sit out despite the cold! Hope you have smiled a few times this week, hasn’t the weather been great. Continue reading
