Scabiosa barroca

Scabiosa barroca – sometimes Scabiosa are called the Pincushion Flower

Today Cee’s amazing Flower of the Day popped up on my screen a few moments later I found myself popping out into the garden to see what I could find.  Thanks for the inspiration Cee.

Exploring Winchester's heritage

Didn't we have amazing weather in September, perfect for all out outdoor events including live theatre in the Inner Close of Winchester Cathedral.⠀ ⠀ As one of our visitors said . . . . ⠀ “totally worth travelling to the UK all the way from Australia (28hrs!), to find myself⠀ smack in the middle of Heritage Open Days"⠀ ⠀ Huge thanks again to @blueappletheatre for putting on two brilliant plays this year, and also to Pilgrims School and @winchestercathedral for hosting.
Really miss these three and our other amazing University of Winchester volunteers. ⠀ ⠀ They were all so fabulous this year, helping behind the scenes prepare for the festival and during the festival itself. And don't they all look fabulous in their #HeritageOpenDay Tshirts!⠀ ⠀ #InternationalVolunteerDay #volunteers #Winchester #HeritageVolunteers #heritage #greathall #explorewinchester
On average each HODs visitor attended 4 events during this year's festival but some people managed to visit more than 20 each!⠀ ⠀ How many events did you get to visit this year? Can you beat 28?!⠀ ⠀ #HeritageOpenDays #ExploreWinchester #Heritage #Free #Festival #daysout #explore
We were so lucky with the weather for this year's Heritage Open Days; it made the fabulous performances by Blue Apple Theatre even more special⠀ ⠀ #theatre #liveperformance #outdoor #streettheatre #winchester
