My Other Blog

Museu da Eletricidade, em LisboaMy other blog is a blog all about Portugal, sharing travel memories and advice from our extended stays. Our Portuguese base since 2013 has been in Olhão, a small fishing town on the south coast. It is less than 20minutes drive from Faro – the only airport and capital of the Algarve, Portugal’s Other Kingdom. We love it there as the weather is generally great even in winter, there are some wonderful restaurants in Olhão, it probably has the best fish market DSCN8152 (Case Conflict)around and there is great bird watching just a few minutes walk from the centre of town.  We have also found it a great location for touring the Algarve and Alentejo and is only a train ride from Lisbon.

DSCN7989My other blog began life slowly in 2014 but by the September 2015 I was posting every two or three days and continue to do so. DSCN1435In the early days there was a focus on birding and flora, but in recent months I have expanded to include hill walks, road trips, interviews and city adventures. My original aim was to use this blog for when in England, and the other for when in Portugal but since the beginning of 2016 I seem to use both regularly. Probably because I have over 12,000 photographs (& counting) to share with you, and I’ve also discovered more and more fabulous photography challenges which I just cannot resist!

So if you enjoy photography, are a birder, a botanist, love Portugal and/or are planning a trip there soon do join me and discover more with It Caught my Eye in Portugal.
