I couldn’t decide on meet or meat for Debbie’s One Word Sunday so decided in the end to go for a meat meet! I didn’t take the photograph but it is in my photographic archives as it is of my paternal granddad training the next tranche of butchers for Sainsbury’s in the 1960s. Is it me or do all the young men look similar?!

Teddy Boys the lot 😀 😀

I wonder if it is a very early version of the pictures you can stack together with just your grandad and one man who is moving about a lot?

You’ve solved it 🤣

They do look similar. I think it’s the long heads topped by similar hairstyles. Probably had some kind of dress code in those days too.

Think you’re probably right. Sainsbury’s was once a very particular store.

It must be the very fashionable hairstyle which makes them all look alike.

Wonder if they all went to same barber that morning?!

They all look like peas from the same pod to me – except for the one you’re related to 😂

Thank goodness he does look different, otherwise would be thinking there’s a whole bunch of relatives I’ve never met!

So lucky to have it. Wish I had more of him at work, and also my other grandfather who was a fishmonger at the Army & Navy store

They’re definitely quadruplets. And scenes from a bygone age. Would you believe my grandson is doing the 1980s in history???

Heavens above….the 1980s are only 30-40 years ago!!! I’m feeling ancient now if the ‘80s are history

Well, as Tom pointed out, it’s as far back for William as WWII was for his dad’s generation.

Hah, a meet meat! Great. Maybe the men are all clones, churned out to ‘meet’ the great booming butcher demands of the 1960s. 😱

LOL! Ah the beginning of the end with supermarkets expanding

All ends have to begin somewhere. We rarely are aware of it, though.

So glad not just me who thought this. Not really noticed before. If only we could ask granddad about them
