Today’s not just a square day, today’s a Share Your Desktop day too, and I am pondering whether the landscape version of this should be my new desktop, what do you all think?

Your bright bird looks as if he/she hasn’t a care in the world.
Hope your cares are light today. If not cross over to the sunny side of the street. π

I am hoping my cares are light today after yesterday, so far started well with a video chat with my youngest stepdaughter, and now I get to go to the sunny side with you – so all is good π

Absolutely fantastic capture, Becky π Here’s mine: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2021/04/15/a-bright-and-early-start-bright-squares-apr-15/

thanks Jez, the beech is at the end of our garden about 75ft away but I was upstairs at time so was almost the same height as it which is why I was able to capture it just right π

This is mine for today, a bit too cooling for April, but very bright:
Thank you Becky for this uplifting challenge.

Lovely desktop image! WP is being pesky again. It’s stopped sending me notifications of your posts. What IS it up to? You’re sharing with Jude again today – but three pink squares, slightly fishy. https://margaret21.com/2021/04/15/the-museums-of-pink/

It’s very odd how WP behaves, are you still following me? I have spotted it keeps deciding to drop off a few followers, hope it hasn’t done that to you.
PS Will be over to enjoy your square later. Have a day’s worth of comments to catch up on as well as various Zooms this morning!!

Don’t let it all get you down – it’s meant to be fun! I’ve re-subscribed. I follow someone else who’s ‘dropped’ me three times! I hope it’s not personal…

oh definitely not getting me down, just frustrating as yesterday I had set aside time to enjoy blogging but instead was dealing with volunteer performance issues

I think it would be quite lovely to see this little fellow every time you turned your computer on.

That’s what I am thinking – might change it later. Once that is I have visited your square and others – 24hrs behind today!

It is a male chaffinch, sadly their numbers are falling year on year

That’s not good. Also that reminds me to do my annual pollinator count tomorrow π

ooh is that a national scheme or just something you do?

It’s a part of a annual insect (wild pollinators) count

ooh we haven’t got that far as far as I know – butterflies and birds yes but not bees or other pollinators

There isn’t a count just for butterflies here yet. I think that may be covered by the pollinators perhaps

That would make sense . . think it is great you count all as gives a complete picture, plus opens eyes to all the different pollinators.

Late this afternoon there were moths in a bush. I’ll have to do my very short 20 minutes in the early morning and perhaps another in the evening π

Beautiful. Would make a relaxing desktop but I think I might spend too long looking at the bird rather than doing my work!

I had a different square scheduled for today but then this one pushed past: https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2021/04/15/ice-ice-baby/
And by all means, your fluffy bird (a finch?) should get a more permanent life on your desktop!

You are right it is a finch, a chaffinch to be exact!
