Helicopters are probably one of the most challenging forms of transport, generating lift with its horizontal spinning rotors to overcome its weight and sweep it upwards into the air. Not only can they take off and land vertically and hover, they can also fly forward, backward and sideways. How’s that for uplift!

Now why didn’t I think of that? I have a raft of helicopter photos. Next time! Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2021/01/27/ongoing-eruption/

Lovely click.
In life, we take things for granted.
We never think of how much went into the invention of Helicopter. Not just helicopter, so many other inventions.
Hats off to the humans!
Beautiful click of cloud formation. For a second I thought, the helicopter dispersing the clouds!

The internet connection was down for about 12 hours. I’ve not heard why but given our weather yesterday afternoon and evening someone could have hit a utility pole.

I just love the way you turned that helicopter into a gnat! More old remains from me today:

What a creative UP! We often see the military or sea rescue helicopters overhead and occasionally one belonging to the electricity distributor.

That’s a good one for the challenge. I’ve been in a helicopter once and found it much more exciting than I had thought – I thought I might be a bit worried in it, but not at all! I was lucky enough to fly down into the Grand Canyon – it was fabulous!

A great post, Becky, I have to say I have never considered the technology behind a helicopter. But I do love them. The size of some of the military ones is immense – got a tour of one a few years ago (on land!). I’ve done a helicopter ride over Victoria Falls – wonderful – and on my to-do list is a ride over London in a doorless helicopter. To give my camera freedom 🙂 Where will you pick for your ride, do you think?

oh wow you are so lucky. MrB has been in a doorless one, apparently not for the fainthearted!
I think a city would be great, so could be anywhere 🙂
