Squares is about having fun, and with teacups and upside down moments in my head for some reason I thought I would try a lensball experiment. I think I need to play a bit more, but for now it has enabled me to tick off another word in the theme cloud.

Now remember you don’t need to use any of these, you could simply be brilliant by looking up. Just one very important thing, squares have 4 equal sizes. There have been quite a few rectangles recently!
Thank you all again so much for joining in the fun of squares, and for leaving so many comments. It has meant so much to me, and it has also been fantastic to see how many of you have been visiting at least one other squarer.
By the way on the couple of days when I am been playing catch up with visiting all of your lovely squares I think may have upset the WP gremlins. My comments seem to have been disappearing into spam. So if you haven’t had a comment from me on your square posts over the past couple of days, do check spam. I may be holed up in there! And if not, leave a link again below and I will visit. Together, with the tag SquareUp, we can be upbeat!
The sun is out (sorta) and we have a new President.

We watched the inauguration. It was so beautiful – the speeches, the music and the poetry. I cried with happiness when your VP said her oath, what a moment.
Lots of work ahead, but a brighter and optimistic future

Wow, I love the effect! What exactly is a lens ball? Something for the camera or what?

Thank you 🙂 it is rather like a crystal ball or a round paperweight – can use it with any camera or even your phone.

Thanks Jude, and do buy one . . although be prepared to struggle a bit at the start with it!!

Any suggestions on the size?

Mine is about the size of a child’s fist – I think Jez has bought a couple so might be better asking him

OK. Do you know the weight?

Haha! Thank you. I see the 80cm is 650g and was wondering if it would be too heavy for me.

wow 650g that does seem heavy – I struggle with holding the 270g one in my hand and taking a photo at same time.

That’s what I was thinking.

I can tell by the amount of research! I think the one I have is the biggest you want if you plan to pop it in a bag when you are out and about in gardens or on a walk, but if you want to just play in the garden then go for a bigger one 😀

Your experiment with the lens ball produced impressive results!
I sent to Amazon for a couple of lens balls of different sizes, and downloaded a short book about how to use them. I gave up after a few attempts.
Maybe I should see if Amazon sell teacups! And copy your set up 😂

lol!! Love the idea of a teacup lensball trend . .
I have struggled with them too, specially when outdoors as either worried they are going to fall off something or I can’t take photo whilst holding them as my camera is too heavy! Might be worth asking Jez Braithwaite as he seems to be using them quite a bit now – I think i have included a link to him in one of the comments

I’ll follow this up. I keep getting blurry shots of my thumb on a less than shiny lens ball ( and yes, I also have the little stands for them. )

Phew not just me who has the thumb in the way, the fingerprints all over the ball and the where on earth is the stand now moments!!
