I started with affinal kin in my original KindaSquare announcement and consanguineous on day one, so it has been rather lovely to see so many of you also sharing family portraits this month. There have been so many kind and beautiful faces, you’ve inspired me to share another relation, this time of Dad’s dad. Grandad was certainly kind, and I also remember he was very cheeky. He had a few things to say about this song!
By the way if you would like to see my header shot of Grandad with his parents and siblings click here. It is a lovely photograph of my consanguineal kin, and it would be shame to miss it if you didn’t come via the WP reader or my home page. I do like my theme but it can occasionally unkind to header photographs!
Of course, I had to look up consanguinal, and now have a new word to add to my repertoire. Great photos of your grandfather and I, personally, think he can sing.

It’s such a great word isn’t it. Ah wish Clive Dunn had been one of grandfathers, but he’s an actor turned singer just for this song

I love kinfolk squares and I will remember this for future posts, as I have many possibilities too. Your Grandad looks adorable and I wonder how long it took to get that hat on straight! 🙂

How nice for you to have so many family photos. My sister has traced a lot of our family history though I don’t know whether she’s come across too many photos. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2020/10/19/outrigger-canoes-in-the-channel/

They were expensive to have – we only have a few of my grandfather’s family. They must have come into some money to go to the photographer

That would explain it. I don’t think my ancestors ever had much money!

Neither did mine, I do wonder if this was a special occasion

The ancestral path is so inspiring and interesting to see who we are.

Do with seven sets of great grandparents, but the eighth is a mystery.
Granddad was very special 😀 and by the looks of it so was his mum, my great grandmother

I’m still focused on fall color seeing I’m stuck up north – and coping with all that is happening. I hate to see October come to an end.

Old photos are fun to come across…now I wonder who this is. I must remember to write on the back so the future will know the now…oh goodness ..how to write on a digital photo and will someone have what it takes to look.

oh i know family history is going to be so different with everything digital. Will our descendants even be able to access the photos?!

Lovely that you share your family pics. My square has remotely to do with family (as it was inspired by an outing with the grandchildren): https://picturesimperfectblog.wordpress.com/2020/10/19/some-kind-of-dragon/
