At 3:35am BST, the moon, known today as the perigean full moon, will only be 356,907km (221,772 miles) away from Earth. However as I will probably be fast asleep at this time, here is a shot I took a few hours ago, about an hour after it had risen.
Looks more like a beach ball in this shot! Do hope you got or get to see the super moon too. Will disappear about 7am our time so you have a few hours left wherever you are. By the way this is a bonus square, the post I had prepared will follow later.

Well done, Becky, a nice clear shot. I went out to look at it a few times but it was very hazy. A shame as we’ve only got one more supermoon this year, apparently – next month I think.

It’s very odd have we have had them all in a row isn’t it. Do hope next month is better for you, and guess at least tonight you could try again – won’t be as close but will still be pretty big!

I did make several trips up to the roof last night but the moon didn’t look any bigger than normal. We must be further away? 🙂 🙂 It was very pretty though. Not sure if we’re meant to link here, or later, but here I am!
