I thought I’d follow yesterday’s beauty with history and creativity today.
And I have opted for footlights, not the theatre in Cambridge but the lighting which illuminates a stage from the very front edge. Apparently footlights were first used in England in the 17th century, and originally consisted of oil lamps with floating wicks. However having opted for theatrical lighting I then realised the only theatrical shot I had was of an amphitheatre! Oops, far too early for footlights. There again I’m sure the Romans must have invented something similar for their theatres.
