Good Morning, the waiting is over!

Four weeks today January Squares will dawn so I thought daybreak a perfect time for me to brightly announce next month’s theme.

After the success of lines in October I’m sticking with a photographic essential for January’s theme. It is one that will scintillate in our refulgent squares. It may even bring a ray of hope for those of us in the northern hemisphere, and if you are in the southern hemisphere a chance to share the dazzling brilliance of your summer.

Have you guessed it yet from my illuminating ̶a̶m̶p̶h̶i̶b̶i̶a̶n̶s̶ hints?

Of course you have. The next squares theme is ______light!

I am aware I am not the first to suggest light for a photography challenge, but take a note of the ______ .

It is really important!

I’m proposing our January squares are filled with words ending in light that means one or more of the following; sunlight, floodlights, firelight, skylights, candlelight, sidelights, starlight, footlights, moonlight, streetlights, torchlight, taillights, gaslight, headlights, or, as I have today, twilight – whether that be the astronomical, nautical or civil twilight. And feel free to find your own _____light, there are more than 50 words which end in light!

Once Squares begins on 1st January I will be posting daily, mostly from the archives but hopefully there will be at least one post when the photographs are brand new.

It would be great if you could join me daily too, but you can post whenever inspiration strikes you or illuminates a square! It really is up to you as to when you post, and also whether your lighting squares are new or from your photographic archives.

The tag is #JanuaryLight but the only challenge rule is that your main photograph must be SQUARE. Remember a square has 4 equal sides! Once we start in January do leave a comment as well as a pingback on my square posts. It makes the challenge so much more fun for everyone, and most importantly it enables me to include a link to your square in one of the galleries. I wonder who is going to steal the limelight?!
