  1. Ahh, the Western Jackdaw. Except that it was simply a Jackdaw when I captioned my shots of them. They also changed the scientific name just to make my captions more inaccurate.

      1. I know. Having hundreds of bird shots on film with extensive captions for editors on the slide mounts I estimate that 50% of the common or scientific names have been changed.

          1. It must be a nightmare for publishers of field guides and the like. Some species are probably changed between the book going to print and hitting the bookstore.
