Now this is a cloister I’d happily sit in for a few hours. It can be found inside Convento da Conceição in Beja, Alentejo, the convent that was the home of Mariana Alcoforado, the Portuguese nun who became famous for her love letters to Marquis de Chantilly.

What a lovely spot, it could be anywhere in the Islamic world as well as Portugal!
