I may have been in despair at times this month because of British politicians, but thanks to everyone who joined in with spikes I never lost the ability to smile, laugh or go awww! As always at the end of challenge I like to look back at my squares and I thought I’d start with some of my green ones.
And it is not just my squares that I like to look back at I also enjoy looking around the square galleries. And just for all of you I have put together one final one.
- So let’s start with a few puzzles, who knows where this is, what on earth could this be protecting and do these remind you of anyone?!
- When not puzzled I am sure you have been enjoying the stunning flora, and glorious views.
- And I have been in awe of some of your extraordinary macros and closeups, as well as the beauty you have shared.
Wasn’t that a fabulous opening to our final spiky gallery. What an incredible month it has been. Do take a moment to look round as we have quite a few new faces in the final few days.
- We have been delighted by explosive art, and spiky things in the corner, and I have had so much fun discovering spikes in the accompanying text,
- There have been tasty things to eat and not just for humans
- And how about all the marvellous and unusual songs, including the ones that are now stuck in my head!
Ooops just realised I forgot to remind you. However I am sure you all remembered to make yourself a cup of something before you started browsing round. If not take a moment now!
- Amongst the fabulous birding spikes and many wonderful animals, there has been some spiky behaviour
- We have enjoyed beautiful signs of spring and glorious colours however be mindful you may think summer is here but there is still a risk of frost!
- There has also been some lovely rust, beautiful remnants and ouch don’t pick up that cone!
Looking back at my thirty-one I am surprised to see that only one of my spikes was from England, the rest are all from Portugal. Thank goodness all of you were much more adventurous on your spiky adventures.
- There have squares more like paintings, and extraordinary moments in the mist.
- There have been spiky garden tales, beautiful valleys and so many wonderful and unusual trees
- We’ve been to the opera and been inspired by the beautiful quilts and incredible buildings
Thank you so much. You have all been truly amazing, and I am going to miss all your daily spikes, pointy shots, barbs and jagged edges.
- Who can forget the beautiful blossom, the Scottish unicorns and the unusual national monument
- There have been quirky gates, and
- And whilst it has been a quieter challenge than previous ones I am still somewhat amazed that no-one ran out of spikes! What fun it has been.
I must admit though I am looking forward to a little bit of down time from being a challenge host. I love it so much, but some days there are just not enough hours in the day. However having said that it won’t be long before I am champing at the square bit and raring to go again.
So make sure you are following me to receive advance notice of the theme for June squares. I’ll probably be posting the theme in early May, still mulling over a long list of ideas at the moment. By the way if you were the wonderful woman who sent me loads of brilliant ideas a few months ago, can you remind me who you are as I cannot find yours today!
Thankyou so much for your diligent visits and summing up this month, not forgetting the challenge itself.

Hi Becky, it looks like everyone had an amazing time with ‘spiky’ things. Here’s hoping I’m not so busy and free to be a more active participant in the next challenge.

Finally have seen all the spikys for March…………….phew. It took me a while but it must have taken you hours Becky. Thanks for a great challenge that made everyone think that there were more to spikes than a cactus. Funny that most of yours were from Portugal….most of mine were from Australia 😀 😀 😀
On to the next one in June x

Great gallery Becky, it’s always good to see them all in one go. I quite like that cheeky cricket, an excellent photo although it looks monster-sized. 8)

It is special isn’t it seeing everyone together 😊
PS that grasshopper was enormous. Maybe not as quite as big in my photo, but not far off!!

Jiminy Cricket- fewer than normal? I still don’t have time to go the rounds, but well done to you for putting it together so beautifully and being hostess with the mostest. 🙂 🙂 We made it to the roof top in Hotel Faro. Moroccan themed food today and quite a tempting array, but the views were even better. Thanks, darlin! Take care 🙂

PS and thank you. It has been fun, but you are right quieter. Spikes was amazing once started but very daunting to start. June will be easier 😊
