I appreciate your comment to Gypsy. We really need to keep remembering the past.
Right now we are having too many horrors every day over here.
Beautifully captured image.
They are, and after a two days of going round cemeteries and attending events if was overwhelming. But in a way that was good, as we need to remember the horror.
Yes….. visiting the grave of my Mum’s Uncle. Very moving as we were there at the time of the 100th anniversary of the 3rd Battle of Ypres. I needed so much time alone just to cope x
It is a photo I’ve been pondering what to do with ever since I took it, as I felt it deserved a page of its own. I found it such a moving memorial, and as you say very sad. There is just something about the red writing surrounding him.
Strange how the sculpture distorts things. The shot doesn’t look square at all, though I’m sure it is. Can’t blame the wine this morning. 🙂 🙂 Have a happy day, Becky!
A very moving memorial.

I arrived in Sydney on the eve of Anzac Day 14yrs ago, and so the following morning I found myself caught up in it all. Never forgotten.

That’s an interesting one Becky. Subtle circle and squares, and a sad but sensitive war memorial

Have fun, make a snowman for me!!
We had an absolute downpour earlier, but now blue skies. Not sure how long it is going to last though, settled blue and sun isn’t due until Wednesday.

It’s not due here… full stop 🙂 Poor swans and cygnets on the river!

A very thoughtful square – and a war memorials that for once is not martial, and mentioning honour and blood and sacrifice.
