As you might expect for a square challenge and for someone who spends a lot of time in Portugal there are going to be lots of tiles this month. These though are not azujeos as they are English. I spotted them last year in Ironbridge.

Coalport Tiles

The picture isn’t perfect I know but I had to include it as these tiles reflect both of the challenge themes – ‘Squared Square’ and ‘Squaring the Circle’. There are multiple squares, squares within squares, and even a circle within a square. Almost as good as what Tish shared yesterday!

If you want to take part in this challenge, you can do the same as me today and combine the two themes together. Or you can do what I usually do which is go alternate days or you can swap over mid way. As demonstrated by the fabulous and lucid gypsy it really is totally up to you what you do BUT whatever you do please remember the one #MarchSquare rule you must follow – the photo itself must be square!

  9. Ah, I have some tiles from the Jackfiled tile musuem at Ironbridge. But none have made it to the challenge. These are a true delight, love the flowers and all the squares and circles. A shame that people rip them out of the old houses.

    1. So many people don’t seem to care, I find it most odd, Why buy a historic house if you then proceed to convert it to look like every other modern house.

      Made me laugh on the carpet! I’m not sure what head I have on at moment – still sorting English things we didn’t get done whilst we were back and not getting out on long walks because of the rain – still getting lots of short walks in and is warm 😊

  15. Oh, this is brilliant, Becky. And some Shropshire-made tiles I should think, if you spotted them in Ironbridge (Maws or Craven Dunnill). Am now quite fuddled counting squares and circles 🙂

    1. There are too many to count aren’t there!! Think you are right on the tiles origin, unfortunately I forgot to take note of the sign beside them. Too busy enjoying their beauty!!
