Alliums were everywhere this year at Kew. These of course are purely decorative, but others areΒ cultivated as onion, garlic, scallion, shallot, leek, and chives.Β They are such a fabulous flower, but don’t ask me to name the others!

The header looks amazing! Alliums seem to be everywhere these days, yet a few years ago I don’t recollect seeing them at all. I used to grow chives in the border back in the 1980s mainly as a decorative plant so I must have been ahead of the crowd!! I also have purple for you today. Seen at Beth Chatto’s nursery.

Of course you were ahead of the crowd, Kew is only just catching up!
I’m glad you like the header – I prefer it to the square. In fact I’ve just been looking at today’s square and a few ahead I think I may have prepared these all at the end of the day as I prefer the headers in all!! Might see if I can tweak tomorrows
How are you today?

Must admit I dropped using headers as I didn’t think I’d have time to manage a post every day. Feeling a lot better now, yesterday I was even feeling quite lively! Need to get some fresh air as that always helps, but a bit wet at the moment.

So glad you are feeling better . . . . . and very sensible to drop the headers! Do hope you get outside later xx

oh no – no rain here all day and even glimpses of blue sky. Thought Cornwall was meant to have better weather!!

Well, surrounded by coast we do suffer from sea frets, fog and mists as well as rain – think this lot should have moved away by now, but it’s obviously decided to hang around. Hoping tomorrow is better.

No sign of it this morning thank goodness . . . hopefully the Isle of Wight has done it’s usual trick and turned it north way before it got to us!

They make such a lovely strong statement in a border, don’t they? I like them a lot. π π
Jude might be late joining you today. She wasn’t feeling great and I know she has family over from Oz today. Me, I’ve just been gallivanting π
